WHat is chanbara?

Chanbara is commonly known as “padded weapons training”. Here at West Valley Martial Arts, our focus is to use chanbara as a safe and fun way for students to learn spatial awareness, strategy, and discipline through friendly competition and training.

Our Chanbara Competition will be held on Saturday, June 14th of 2025 at Cupertino High School! It is by enrollment only and has a limited student availability.

Questions or Comments

All equipment (helmets, chanbara weapons, etc.) will be sanitized between each class. Students will be turned away if they have not signed up for the competition in advance. If your class of preference is full, you will be put on the waitlist until further notice. All those who are accepted into the class will receive an email confirmation 1 week prior to the competition date
